About

Vanpooling is a convenient and popular way to get to work, especially for people who work far from home. “Official” vanpools have seven to 15 passengers, including the driver (who usually rides for free!), and the vehicle may be owned by one of the vanpoolers or leased from a vanpool rental company.

The 511 Regional Rideshare Program offers a variety of services to help people start or join a vanpool, and our vanpool consultants are committed to helping vanpools stay on the road.   We’ll help you:

Benefits of Vanpooling

When you join a vanpool, you’ll:

  • Save time and money
  • Qualify for Rideshare Rewards, preferential parking and special incentives (where available)
  • Reduce wear and tear on your personal vehicle
  • Catch up on work, sleep or other activities (i.e., read a book or newspaper, listen to music, etc.)

Join a vanpool today by logging onto the 511 Regional Rideshare Program's 511 RideMatch Service.

When you start a vanpool or register your existing vanpool with the 511 Regional Rideshare Program, you’ll:

  • Receive a free or discounted commute – drivers’ commute costs are usually covered by passenger fares and other applicable vanpool driver incentives (where available)
  • Take advantage of vanpool start-up subsidies or incentives
  • Be eligible for preferential parking (where available)
  • Qualify for leased van benefits, including:
    - No long-term financial obligation
    - Access to an extra vehicle
    - Spouse may be eligible to drive
  • Receive dedicated support services to keep your van on the road

Start a vanpool or register your seven to 15 seat vanpool today by logging onto the 511 Regional Rideshare Program's 511 RideMatch Service
